This class is required before filing for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy protection. This counseling session is only for individuals or married couples filing together who have not yet filed for bankruptcy. If you have already filed for bankruptcy and have been assigned a case number you probably need to take the Debtor Education counseling offered by Solid Start Financial Services.

Funding for Urgent Credit Counseling comes from the fees Urgent Credit Counseling charges its clients. Urgent Credit Counseling is not affiliated with and does not receive any financial support from any bank, credit card company, collection agency, or any other source. Urgent Credit Counseling does not pay or receive fees or other consideration for the referral of debtor students to or from Urgent Credit Counseling.

Urgent Credit Counseling‘s financial counselors have received certification as a Certified Personal Finance Counselor or equivalent. All counselors receive training from Urgent Credit Counseling to be able to answer any questions you may have regarding Urgent Credit Counseling‘s counseling materials.

Urgent Credit Counseling does not report any of its clients to any credit reporting agency. The use of Urgent Credit Counseling services will not have an impact on your credit report.

However if you choose the optional credit pull to have your debts listed, a credit inquiry will show on your credit report.

The cost of Urgent Credit Counseling's counseling session is $24.00 per person, or per couple for married debtors filing jointly. While joint filers are not required to purchase the counseling session separately, each spouse is required to complete the entire counseling session.

Urgent Credit Counseling accepts bank cards, electronic checks, or money orders. You may also pay by use of an Attorney Code which you may obtain from your attorney if he or she is a Urgent Credit Counseling Subscribing Attorney.

The counseling session consists of two segments: an online component where you will review written material and enter financial information so we may help you create a household budget, and a follow-up one-on-one phone call or message exchange with a counselor. While the online portion of the counseling session is available to students at any time, the follow-up phone call or message exchange must take place during normal business hours. Your counseling will not be complete until you have completed your follow-up phone call or message exchange. At the conclusion of your one-on-one counseling Urgent Credit Counseling will provide you with an official Certificate of Counseling. Your certificate will be dated with the date of the one-on-one counseling, not the date you finished the online portion of the counseling.

Urgent Credit Counseling, Inc. maintains all client information in the strictest confidence. The information you provide will be used by Urgent Credit Counseling, Inc. for the purpose of completing your counseling with us. Your personal information will not be conveyed or disclosed to any third party, except your designated attorney, without your consent, except as may be required by law.	Please note that Urgent Credit Counseling may share information about your account upon reasonable request by the United States Trustees Office as it relates to your counseling and/or bankruptcy, and your contact information with affiliates of Urgent Credit Counseling when suitable.

The United States Trustee has reviewed only Urgent Credit Counseling's credit counseling services and has neither reviewed nor approved any other services Urgent Credit Counseling provides to clients.

Urgent Credit Counseling provides Spanish-speaking counselors at no additional cost. The online portion of the counseling session is available in 68 languages but the interaction with a counselor following the online portion is available only in English and Spanish. A client may use an interpreter for the interactive counseling.
